VASTHI
Vasthi is one treatment among the five main Panchakarmas therapies.In Vasthi karma the medicine such as oils or herb decoctions, administered through anal canal as a detoxification and rejuvenation therapy.
Vasthi is one of the most important Panchakarma procedures and helps to control Vata Dosha. As Vata is the main cause of most disorders, Vasthi is advised to prevent or treat a wide variety of diseases and restore health. It can be prescribed as an eliminative therapy to flush out toxins from the system or as a nourishing therapy to repair, heal and restore body tissues and systems to normal condition. Because of this reasons Vasthi Therapy is considered as “ARDHA CHIKITHSA”( Half Treatment).
Vasti is of two main types:
- Sneha Vasti (oil enema)
- Asthapana Vasti (herbal decoctions enema)
VIRECHANA
Virechana means the elimination of the morbid humors occurs through adho bhaga/ Anal route It is mostly used purification procedure especially in pittaja rogajanya disorders.
Indications:-
Kustha ( skin disorders)
Kamala ( jaundice)
Sthoulya (obesity)
Swasa (respiratory disease)
VAMANA
In Vamana (Emesis Therapy), vomitting is induced by oral administration of medicaments. Done early morning, especially for vitiated Kapha. Effective in bronchial asthma, psoriasis, schizophrenia, drug addiction, allergic conditions, epilepsy, PCOS, etc.
